Are you tired yet? Same.
Welcome back to Rest in Action.
Hey there,
If you’re feeling stretched thin—by work, by the economy, by the world, by the news cycle (ugh), by social media, by trying to hold it all together—you’re not alone. We’re all exhausted, and not just from doing too much. We’re tired from carrying too much, questioning too much, being asked to care without being given the space or time to care—especially for ourselves.
That’s why I’m bringing back Rest in Action. It’s a newsletter for those of us who are feeling depleted, but aren’t defeated. It’s for anyone who’s asked, “how do we actually rest in a society that rewards burnout and punishes pause?”
As someone who has been met with deep grief this past year especially (more on that later), who has dealt with burnout, and who has always been an advocate of rest early on (without the language), this is an issue that means the most to me.
Here’s what to expect, 1–2 times a month:
✨ Real talk on rest: the tensions, myths, and truths—especially for BIPOC individuals, disabled communities, caregivers, and those juggling complex identities and histories.
🔗 Links that soothe: great reads, listens, and creators reframing what rest and care can look like, as well as just some fun stuff in the mix.
🛏️ Rest opportunities: sabbatical programs, rest-focused grants/residencies, and companies doing it right (yes, they exist).
💬 Coaching spotlights: how to advocate for rest in your job, family, or personal structure.
🖤 Support for rest justice: highlighting initiatives like @thenapministry, with a portion of future subscriptions going directly to specific rest movements.
Soon, there’ll be a paid subscription option with access to deeper interviews, coaching tools, and more. But the main newsletter—this evolving resource and reflection space—will always be free.
We’ll explore how rest is not just absence or inaction, but actual action. How doing less can help us feel more. Say it with me: Rest is not a reward.

Same.
Let’s rest—on purpose. Feel free to take a look at past posts if you haven’t yet, and get ready for the new iteration.
